Ryan Pomeroy

Chief Executive officer

Ryan Pomeroy is a leader who continually proves that ambition, focus, and strategic thinking can build a brand that is not only deeply connected to the regions they operate in, but is recognized across Canada. He believes that a fierce investment in the people, properties, and communities where Pomeroy works is what drives their success.

Originally from Fort St. John, B.C., Ryan always knew what he wanted to be when he grew up, and began his journey at Pomeroy Lodging and a very young age. On his fifth birthday, Ryan spent the day working in the hotel restaurant with his brother and father. From then on, he was dedicated to the family business, pushing for better service, faster growth, and stronger community relations. In 2006, he was appointed president, and CEO in 2018. During his tenure, Ryan has been instrumental in strategically positioning Pomeroy Lodging for continued success and growth.

Ryan maintains the company vision and strategy and steers the overall direction of the Pomeroy Lodging with the oversight that is balance sheet centric. He is focused on building relationships with corporate and community stakeholders; leading capital restructuring; and directs large portfolio sales and acquisitions.

Ryan’s vision is to be the first choice for travellers by providing superior quality hotels, products, and guest services. He is dedicated to seeing Pomeroy’s employees and families develop and investing in the sustainable growth of the communities where Pomeroy hotels are built.

Bob Pomeroy, Chairman of Pomeroy Lodging, has over 25 years of experience in hotel operations. As both an owner and operator in the hotel and hospitality industry, he established the Pomeroy name as being the premier hotel group in Western Canada.

Having seen a great opportunity to differentiate himself in the industry, Bob grew his business the old-fashioned way, from the ground up by creating meaningful relationships with partners, vendors and his people. He has spent his career focused on the vast opportunities available in Canada. His life is a testament to hard work and perseverance.

Stefan Nasalski

President

In 2007, Stefan Nasalski joined Pomeroy as a Regional Manager for the hotel operations division with the goal of affecting organizational change from a leadership position. In his current role as the President, Stefan is focused on turning the organizational vision and strategy into results. With operational oversight, Stefan leads the day-to-day business functions for the organization, which includes its people and culture, high standards of quality service, hotel performance outcomes, strategy development and deployment and all financial measures of success.

His extensive experience in the branding and operations of high-quality hotels is a valuable asset for long-term strategic planning. Stefan holds true to Pomeroy’s core values, puts people first when it comes to decision making, and sets goals for the company to achieve.

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Stefan holds a Masters of Business Administration, Hospitality and Tourism from the University of Guelph. Every day he brings his past experience and knowledge at every level in the industry to Pomeroy Lodging. His pride in accomplishing goals, and a team approach to leadership allow him to successfully drive hotel operations to greatness.

David Marriott

Chief financial officer

David joined Pomeroy in 2019 as Chief Financial Officer focused on driving the financial performance, strategic direction and creating a results-orientated culture.  David oversees and leads a team of dedicated people in the finance and IT space to ensure that Pomeroy is performing at the highest quality possible.

David has worked in various roles within the finance industry both in Australia and North America, most recently as CFO for a private equity-backed specialty chemical producer. David has a depth of experience in developing high calibre teams, process optimization, operational reporting and driving results in a mixture of industries.  He has worked closely over the years with investors, lenders and other key stakeholders to ensure desired outcomes are met and exceeded.

Born in Brisbane, Australia and relocated to Calgary, Alberta in 2012 David holds both a CA Australia and CPA Canada.  He brings a depth of experience and knowledge to Pomeroy which will assist in the rapid growth of the Pomeroy portfolio.

Graeme Jenkins

vice president of operations

Graeme joined Pomeroy Lodging in 2016 as a Director of Operations and has over 20 years of Hospitality experience; having worked in several different markets and in a variety of leadership positions. Beginning his career at sea working as the Public Rooms Manager and Food & Beverage Manager aboard Cunard Line’s of Ocean Liners. After his time on the ships, Graeme gained valuable experience working in international markets, the Thompson Okanagan, Winnipeg and both Central and Northern AB/BC. His leadership roles have included General Manager, Executive General Manager, Regional Director & Senior Director of Hotel Operations working with various organizations such as Canad Inns and the Sandman Hotel Group.

Graeme is responsible for leading the strategic planning and execution of tactics associated with the operation of all hotels across the portfolio; in support of the overall strategic goal of the organization. This position is accountable for the operational efficiency of each hotel as measured by organizational benchmarks and working collaboratively with internal partnerships in delivering optimal outcomes around people, quality and results.

Heather Hamilton

vice president of Sales

Heather joined Pomeroy Lodging in 2015 as a Director of Regional Sales. Prior to joining the organization, Heather spent 25-year career in hotel sales leadership working with such brands as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Radisson, and Best Western hotels on a national basis.

As the Vice President of Sales for Pomeroy Lodging currently responsible for leading customer relationship management, revenue management and Co-Chair of the Rural Discovery Destination Marketing Fund. Heather is responsible for leading a multi-faceted sales team focused on proactive revenue generation for the company’s limited service, full service and resort hotels.  Heather is currently on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association.

 

Christy Doucette

vice president of People & Culture

Christy has been with Pomeroy since 2005 and in that time has worked in various capacities. Starting as a server, she worked her way up to general management, and upon graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, she moved into the corporate office to oversee the proprietary brands. She now leads the People and Culture department for the organization.

Christy focus is to lead the strategic planning and execution for human resources and the internalization of our Core Values through internal branding and people development for the organization. Focused on connecting our people and values together through customized onboarding programs, training programs, people development programs, internal communication, award recognition programs, performance management and succession planning.

Ryan Laurie

Director of asset management

Ryan joined the organization in 2017 as a Financial Analyst. Ryan attended Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration concentrating in Finance and Accounting with a minor in Economics. Prior to joining Pomeroy Lodging, Ryan spent time in various asset management and corporate strategy roles with Canada’s largest hospitality management firm and largest publicly traded hotel REIT.

In his role as Director of Asset Management, Ryan oversees real estate acquisitions and dispositions, manages financing efforts, investor relations and oversees new franchise and management opportunities for Pomeroy.

cora Ramirez

Executive Director of People & Culture

Cora joined the organization in 2014 as the Executive Director of People and Culture. Cora holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from McMaster University, Ontario, and a diploma in hotel operations and management from Career Canada. Cora is also certified as a predictive index analyst and trained in behavioural interviewing. She is a human resource professional with diverse hospitality knowledge and experience.

Cora’s focus is to support the strategic direction and execution of all human resources practices for the organization and the internalization of our Core Values into our people programs. Focused on recruitment and retention, employment relations, evaluating the current operating procedures and connecting meaningfully with our people.

Nicholas Cheveldave

Director of Project Management

Nick joined the Pomeroy team in 2010 where we applied his strategic and analytical abilities which enabled him to become a skilled project analyst. Nick holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of Northern British Columbia as well as a Diploma in Forest Technology.

In his role as Director of Project Management, Nick plans, executes, and closes new construction projects and large-scale renovations. Focused on developing big picture strategy, full-cycle project management from budgets, contracts and schedules to project reporting and monitoring, communication, and leadership.

Emilie Pageau-Bisson

director of brand STRATEGY

Emilie Pageau-Bisson joined Pomeroy Lodging in 2018 as the Director of Brand Marketing. Earning her stripes with some of Alberta’s leading advertising agencies, Emilie is a proven results-driven marketer with deep experience across many sectors, including tourism, agriculture, and retail.

Originally from Quebec City, she obtained a B.Comm with a fashion retail minor and started her career in the bustling magazine industry of Montreal. A move to Calgary also marked a pivot in her career, diving into advertising and marketing agencies and became the main client lead for some of the largest accounts in Alberta before joining the Pomeroy Lodging team.

She is passionately focused on the holistic brand experience from awareness to post check-out, as she strongly believes that effective contemporary marketing is about building a relationship with the brand during the whole guest experience

David Hawreluk

Vice President of Real Estate

David joined Pomeroy Lodging in 2023 as a Vice President of Real Estate. Since obtaining his law degree from Queen’s University in 1993, David has practiced for the past 30 years as a partner at some of the largest Canadian and global law firms, including serving in roles as Edmonton office managing partner, managing partner for clients and industry in Northern Alberta, and on the national Executive Committee. In addition to his law practice, David has been a passionate businessman that has included owning and managing residential and commercial investment properties in Alberta and Quebec, owning and leasing over 6,000 acres of farmland in Alberta and Saskatchewan, developing industrial lands, designing self-storage facilities, creating and operating a lending brokerage, and recently purchasing the Union Bank Inn property in downtown Edmonton.

In collaboration with the rest of the management team, David is responsible for leading negotiations with respect to hotel and land acquisitions, leasing, and related contractual matters.
