AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION HOTELS DEBUTS IN ALBERTA – Hotelier Magazine: Marriott International has opened the fourth Canadian location of its Autograph Collection Hotels brand — The Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. Located in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, The Kananaskis Mountain Lodge features 247 contemporary guestrooms, suites and lofts — many of which offer mountain views. “We’re delighted for Kananaskis Mountain Lodge to join the Autograph Collection Hotels as our first in Alberta,” says Don Cleary, president of Canada for Marriott International. “With its curated design, rich, local history and beautiful mountain setting, this hotel perfectly embodies the brand’s ‘exactly like nothing else’ mantra and is a welcome addition the growing global portfolio of more than 135 hotels worldwide.”

Alberta finally has a Nordic Spa—and its location is perfect – Canadian Geographic: Once phase two is complete, Alberta’s first Nordic Spa will be a 50,000 square-foot indoor-outdoor oasis for adults only. Pomeroy Lodging finalizes deal to acquire the Best Western Plus Kelowna Hotel & Suites, located in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. Positioned as “Urban Resort” with 176 premium Guest Rooms and Suites wrapped around one acre of beautiful appointed gardens. The hotel was one of the first to go green, introducing recycling programs, solar power for heating and laundry and plug-ins for electric cars. The hotel was awarded with a Director’s Award from Best Western for being in the top 20 per cent of the 2,100 Best Western hotels in North America.

Pomeroy Hotel under construction – Prince George Citizen: A new Pomeroy Inn & Suites is under construction in Prince George, British Columbia and is scheduled to open in October of 2018. The Pomeroy Inn & Suites will include 122 rooms, meeting room facilities as well as an indoor waterpark, splash pad, hot tub and state of the art fitness facilities.
